TK Maxx opens at Willow Place

Published:  23 October, 2007

TK Maxx has made its debut in the East Midland's town of Corby, having opened its store over a week ahead of the official opening of Land Securities' £40m Willow Place scheme, which launches on October 26.

TK Maxx opened its 42,000 sq ft anchor store on October 16, which coincided with the signing of two more retailers to the 175,000 sq ft scheme. Vision Express has taken a 2,200 sq ft store and Body Shop has also signed for a 1,420 sq ft store. The lettings follow those to leading high street fashion brands Jane Norman and River Island, which signed up for flagship stores earlier this month.

All four retailers will be new to Corby, and join a line-up of leading high street fashion and lifestyle retailers opening at Willow Place, including New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Evans, Clarks, MKOne, JD Sports, Game, 3-Store, WH Smith, Superdrug, and Costa Coffee.

Mark Rymell, development manager - retail, Land Securities, said: “Corby's retail offer is about to be transformed. We have attracted some of the UK's leading brands to Willow Place which is a huge demonstration of confidence in Corby's growing importance as an important sub-regional retail centre. We are in advanced negotiations for the remaining units in the scheme, and have already seen encouraging interest from retailers for the next phase of development.”

Joint letting agents for Willow Place, Corby, are Chase & Partners and Leslie Furness.
