House of Fraser and M&S to anchor the Pavilions, Swords

Chartered Land, the new property vehicle for Irish developer Joe O’Reilly, has agreed heads of terms with Marks & Spencer to anchor the Phase III extension of the Pavilions in Swords, Co. Dublin. At 130,000 sq ft the store is set to be the largest M&S store in the Republic of Ireland. And according to local press reports House of Fraser has been lined up for the other anchor store of 125,000 sq ft.

The Phase III extension of the Pavilions at Swords will bring the centre to over 1 million sq ft. The current Phase II extension - which is set to be completed by March 2008 – has already attracted a strong line-up including Zara, du Pareil au Meme, Body Shop, Tommy Hilfinger, Espirit, Bertoni, Champion Sports and Yo! Sushi.

Commenting on the announcement at BCSC, Chartered Land CEO Dominic Deeny said: “We are very pleased to welcome M&S to the third phase of expansion at the Pavilions at Swords. We believe the Pavilions at Swords is well on the way to realising its potential to become the destination of choice among shoppers in North Dublin.”
