Victoria Square 90 per cent pre-let

With less than two months to go until opening day Multi Development has signed another tranche of retailers for its £400m Victoria Square development in Belfast city centre. Free Spirit, The Pier, Pepe Jeans, Pumpkin Patch, Douglas & Grahame, Hobbs, O2 and Starbucks will join the list of over 40 tenants already signed up to the scheme.

Four of the new brands will be taking their first stores in Northern Ireland: Irish hairdresser Free Spirit will operated from a 1,775-sq ft unit; The Pier from a 6,242-sq ft; Pepe Jeans from 2,238 sq ft and New Zealand-based childrenswear brand Pumpkin Patch from 3,826 sq ft. At the same time menswear specialist Douglas & Grahame is increasing its representation in Belfast with a 2,110-sq ft unit; Hobbs has taken 3,392 sq ft; O2 1,148 sq ft and Starbucks 1,984 sq ft.

Multi’s leasing manager Richard Green said: “We are currently in excess of 90 per cent pre-let, and these latest deals demonstrate the diverse range that will be available for the first time in Northern Ireland.

Victoria Square will open in March 2008 with 800,000 sq ft of retail over three floors above two levels of basement parking with 1,000 spaces. House of Fraser, Topshop, H&M, Urban Outfitters are among the retail anchors and the leisure element includes an Odeon cinema, restaurants, bars and cafes.
