Tesco Express has taken a 3,440-sq ft store in Firmac Developments' mixed-use project at 166-176 North Street. A new 15-year lease has been agreed at a commencing rental of £46,440 pa. The upper floors will provide 19 contemporary apartments, designed around a courtyard and aimed at first time buyers. Hartnell Taylor Cook advised Tesco.

Hammerson has leased the 8,800-sq ft Unit 4b on the Battery retail park to Next on a 10-year lease at £330,000 pa or £37.50 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams was letting agent.

British Land has let 11,000 sq ft at Unit 1c, Forster Square retail park to MFI on a 15-year lease at £308,000 pa or £28.00 per sq ft. And Asda Living has taken the 21,703-sq ft Unit 10 at £60,768 pa. Wilkinson Williams and Atisreal were letting agents and Harvey Spack Field represented MFI .

Hermes Real Estate has let Unit 1a at the Tandem centre, providing 3,759 sq ft, to C&J Clark on a 10-year lease at £169,155 pa or £45.00 per sq ft. Green & Partners advised the tenant while Wilkinson Williams and Cushman & Wakefield were letting agents.

Wickes Building Supplies has agreed to take a 20-year lease on the 21,569-sq ft Unit B on the Springfield retail park, Fishguard Road. A rent of £299,068 pa was agreed, based on £14.00 per sq ft for the ground floor space. In addition, an undisclosed capital contribution and an extended rent-free period were granted by the landlord, Simons Estates. King Sturge was letting agent and Wilkinson Williams represented the tenant.

The Hercules Unit Trust has leased the 4,950-sq ft Unit 8a1 on the New Mersey shopping park in Speke to Carphone Warehouse on a 10-year lease at £266,063 pa or £53.75 per sq ft. And Laura Ashley has taken the 4,950-sq ft Unit 11a on a 10-year lease at £235,125 pa or £47.50 per sq ft. Briant Champion Long advised Carphone Warehouse while Wilkinson Williams and Atisreal were letting agents.

Tesco and British Land have let the 5,000-sq ft Unit 3b at the Kingston centre to Clinton Cards on a 10-year lease at £237,500 pa or £47.50 per sq ft. And Mothercare has taken the 10,000-sq ft Unit 3a on a 15-year lease at £400,000 pa or £40.00 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams was letting agent, Harvey Spack Field represented Mothercare and Brasier Harris Clinton Cards.

Walbrook Trustees and Island Nominees have let 2 Union Square to Celebrations Group on a 10-year lease. The initial rent is £44,000 pax. Rowley Hughes Thompson was letting agent.

Hercules Unit Trust has let the 1,791-sq ft Unit 15c on the Crown Wharf shopping park to Starbucks on a 10-year lease at £67,500 pa. Wilkinson Williams and Jackson Criss were letting agents and Morgan Williams advised the tenant.

Propinvest has let 7,500 sq ft at The Galleries to Poundland on a 10-year lease at £130,000 pa. Propinvest was represented by Churston Heard and Jones Retail advised Poundland.

Fashion and home furnishings retailer Laura Ashley has signed up for a unit in The Atrium in Camberley town centre. The £130m mixed-use scheme, which will open in November 2008, is owned by Standard Life Investments and is being developed by Crest Nicholson Regeneration.

Laura Ashley has taken a 5,591-sq ft unit arranged over ground and first floors on a 15-year lease. The store is situated on Park Street at the Southwell Park Road end of the scheme. Other tenants already signed up for The Atrium include a nine-screen Vue cinema, a 22-lane Bowlplex as well as nine restaurant operators including Café Rouge, Prezzo and Wagamama. Three retailers, Zavvi, and Next have already opened on Park Street, ahead of the full scheme launch in the autumn.
