Whistles suits Princes Square

Published:  03 July, 2013

Whistles has extended its lease in Princes Square in Glasgow for a further five years

The fashion brand has successfully traded for over 10 years from the store in a prime position on the ground level of the former 19th Century Merchant’s Square, which has recently undergone a £7.5m refurbishment programme.

Also extending its lease by 10 years is Castle Galleries, which sells a diverse range of quality art including original works, limited edition prints and sculpture. Other new arrivals include beauty brand Kiehl’s, which has opened a pop up store which is designed to maintain the old world apothecary charm of its New York flagship store.

Pizza Express also recently served up a new restaurant within the courtyard level. Glasgow institution bar and diner Buzzy Wares is now under new ownership and has undergone a major refit and is now trading as Buzzy’s Restaurant & Bar.

Stuart Moncur, partner at Cushman & Wakefield, Redevco’s joint letting agent with Bruce Gillingham Pollard said: “We have a lot of ongoing activity at Princes Square, which is hugely popular with shoppers looking for premium brands, and we are in talks with a number of upmarket retailers regarding opportunities in the centre.”
