Five Guys expansion continues with two new sites

American burger brand, Five Guys, has opened its second restaurant in the West Midlands at Touchwood in Solihull and its first at a leisure park in Cambridge.
The burger brand opened in a 3,100 sq ft unit in the heart of Touchwood’s leisure arcade on 4 August and has signed for a 3,912 sq ft site adjacent to Frankie & Benny’s, Bella Italia and Chiquito at Cambridge Leisure Park.
Five Guys has more than 1,200 locations globally and has started expanding into the UK, recently opening restaurants in Glasgow, Manchester, Reading, and Bluewater among others.
Guy Thomas, head of retail leasing at Lend Lease, said of the signing at Touchwood: “Five Guys is another great international addition to our already strong dining offer, following the opening of new brands such as Chimichanga and Theobroma. We are continually looking to evolve our guest experience, in which catering and leisure plays a major role, and Five Guys highlights the pull of Touchwood as a key location in the region.”
Henry Wilson, senior leasing agent at Shelley Sandzer on behalf of Land Securities, added: “Five Guys represents a significant win for the Land Securities owned scheme as they look to secure a new type of brand for the location. A leisure park environment was the obvious next step; they draw from a wide catchment and thus provide great reach for the brand. The location of Cambridge Leisure Park and strong footfall at the mixed-use development should ensure Five Guys’ continue their successful growth whilst adding a new dynamic to the catering line up for the Land Securities portfolio. This should prove to be a great move for all concerned.”
DTZ acted for Touchwood, Shelley Sandzer represented Land Securities and Five Guys represented itself.
