JD Sports to open at St Enoch

Sovereign Land, has signed a leasing agreement with JD Sports for a flagship store at the St Enoch centre, Glasgow’s largest shopping centre.

JD Sports has leased a 30,000-sq ft store with a frontage to Argyle Street, reinforcing the street as the first choice in Glasgow for high street fashion. It is one of the largest JD Sports stores in the UK and one of the largest retail lettings in Glasgow city centre. JD Sports joins Debenhams, Superdry, Top Shop and H&M in having flagship stores at St Enoch.

The agreement with JD Sports is the 26th new lease agreed by Sovereign Land in 15 months. Already this year, Sovereign Land has agreed new lettings to Pizza Hut, The Works, Muffin Break, Millie’s Cookies, Barrhead Travel, Love Accessories and Henley’s Sweets.

St Enoch was acquired in October 2013 by real estate funds managed by Blackstone, with its partner, Sovereign Land, as asset and development manager. Comprising 830,000 sq ft, it is the largest shopping centre in Glasgow and attracts nearly 20 million visitors a year. Major tenants include Debenhams, Topshop, Topman, H&M, Superdry, Boots, Hamleys, Disney, Tesco and Mothercare.
