First phase of Rotherham Retail Park complete

Published:  21 September, 2015

The first phase of Gregory Projects retail project has been completed.

Principal tenants Aldi, Iceland and Home Bargains are now fitting out at the 50,500 sq ft development ready for store openings in late September.

Gregory has also secured deals with Pizza Hut and Barnardo’s to take the remaining two units to complete phase one at the four acre site, located at the junction of Great Eastern Way and Broad Street.

Development is underway for the second and final phase comprising 9,400 sq ft of space with 4,400 sq ft already pre-let to Formula One Autocentres. Completion is expected next month.

Richard Tovey, director at Gregory Projects - part of the Gregory Property Group - said:  “We are pleased to reach completion of the first phase, allowing prime tenants to fit out and open in time for the run up to Christmas. This project has proved to be a major success where we have managed to pre-let 90 per cent of the space well in advance of completion. This is testament to the quality of the location and the need for a new range of discount shopping options for the Parkgate community. We have just one 5,000 sq ft unit remaining with strong interest.”

The Leeds office of Bilfinger GVA advised Gregory on the pre-lettings and is marketing the remaining accommodation in conjunction with the Sheffield office of Knight Frank.
