The development in Cagnes-sur-Mer, near Nice, is 73 per cent let by GLA ahead of its scheduled launch in October 2015, demonstrating retailers’ desire to secure space at the French Riviera’s new shopping and leisure destination.
International and domestic brands already signed at Polygone Riviera include &Other Stories and Cos – the premium brands within the H&M fashion group – each signing their first units in a French shopping centre. The stores will be 9,700 sq ft and 6,000 sq ft respectively.
The scheme will be anchored by French department store Printemps. Other retailers to sign up include Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Forever21, Superdry and Nike and premium and aspirational brands Berenice, Eleven Paris and Zadig & Voltaire.
The lifestyle mall will be divided into four districts - home & garden, lifestyle, premium and The Designer Gallery - each with a unique architectural style and mix of brands. All four districts will display a selection of new brands not before seen in the area and numerous food brands including Le Pain Quotidien.
Leisure space will also form an integral part of the new development, which will house the Dining Experience concept, with a large selection of restaurants and cafés, located in front of a next-generation 10-screens cinema.
Eric Houviez, director of development, European projects at Unibail-Rodamco, said: “The great leasing progress at this stage of the development proves the strong interest of retailers for setting up in differentiating locations, designed around the visitor's experience at every stage of the project. This experience, guiding architecture, design, art, mix of brands, events and services will be in the heart of the first lifestyle mall in France, in its best location – the French Riviera.”
Pierre-Antoine Desplan, director of operations at Socri, added: “Polygone Riviera is a game-changing project for the French Riviera. We are creating a true lifestyle destination that reflects the region’s best qualities and way of life.”
