The centre underwent a thorough audit of their security processes which included independent consultation with management and security staff as part of the assessment procedure for the award.
The Marlowes, supported by its managing agent JLL, has demonstrated its dedication to creating an enjoyable shopping environment by maintaining good customer service as well as understanding the potential security risks and acting to mitigate them.
Centre director, Vince Williams, said: “The Secured Environments award attained by The Marlowes shopping centre is a testament to our commitment towards the safety of all our staff, contractors and shoppers who visit us on a daily basis. A secure and safe environment benefits our retailers and landlord in terms of safety to persons and property as well as assisting us with the defensibility against claims. The process of gaining the award included the re-evaluation of all our risks and procedures and the way in which we implemented and communicated that to our staff and visitors was a fantastic exercise for all concerned.”
The Secured Environments Accreditation has been developed through the partnership of the Association of Chief Police Officers crime prevention initiatives (ACPO CPI) and Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International (PRCI), a specialist in community safety, crime risk management and security management.
