Calendar Club, the UK’s largest seasonal retailer, is opening a new kind of store this year. Halloween on 31st Street is building a huge and immersive Halloween Haunted House in the atrium of the Galleries shopping centre in Bristol.
Calendar Club claims it is the first in the UK to open a shop dedicated entirely to Halloween and the first to create this type of Halloween installation in a shopping centre. As well as a great, unique product range, the Halloween on 31st Street stores offer the public a full atmospheric shopping experience to celebrate the spirit of Halloween.
Calendar Club director David Pike Said: “There is so much going on in our stores and so much to buy, it is a fun place to shop and we really do have something for everyone in our stores”.
And Pike believes he has demographics on his side with recent market research suggested that 64 per cent of households in the UK will celebrate Halloween, be that with a party or gathering, through pumpkin carving, ‘Trick or Treating’ or even dressing up the cat. As a result of this growing popularity we are spending more each year, and it was estimated that the total Halloween spend in the UK last year was approaching £450m although this is still well short of the £50 per household currently spent in the USA.
Galleries centre manager Colin Lang , at The Galleries Shopping Centre, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Calendar Club on this exciting new concept. This is the first time we have had anything quite like this for Halloween so we are set for some fantastic activity that I’m sure will be a hit with all of our local shoppers.”
