The 35,000-sq ft retail park will be anchored by a 22,500-sq ft Lidl supermarket, alongside a McDonalds Drive Thru.
The three new retailers will each occupy units of 2,000 sq ft at around £20 per sq ft for a minimum term of 10 years. There is one final unit of 2,000 sq ft available with A1-A5 consent.
The gateway development sits on Wellingborough’s London Road on the approach to the town centre, opposite the existing Castlefields retail park. Nearby occupiers include B&Q, M&S Simply Food, Pets at Home, Pizza Hut and Premier Inn.
St Modwen acquired the brownfield site in October 2013 and secured planning consent in April 2014. Construction is due to complete by the end of October.
Gary Morris, senior development manager at St Modwen said the successful lettings demonstrated demand for new retail space in Wellingborough: “These new lettings have shown the appetite from retailers for good quality, well located schemes. We’re obviously pleased to be almost fully occupied before practical completion and hope to let the remaining unit before the end of the year.”
