Whiteley Shopping opens £18m cinema and dining complex
Published:  26 November, 2015

The 60,000 sq ft extension adds six new restaurants and a nine-screen cinema to Whiteley Shopping in Hampshire.

The scheme is the second phase in the development and follows the completion of the shopping centre in 2013.

The new catering brands are: Wildwood Kitchen, an all-day kitchen deli restaurant serving freshly prepared food with an Italian twist, which has taken 4,000 sq ft on a 15 year lease; Asian dining concept Dim T has chosen a 3,000 sq ft unit for its second restaurant outside London and its only outlet in a retail scheme; Pizza Express has opened a 3,000 sq ft restaurant on a 25 year lease; Burger chain Five Guys has opened a 2,500 sq ft restaurant; American restaurant and bar Coast to Coast has opened a 5,000 sq ft diner on a 25 year lease; and Nando’s  has signed for a 3,500 sq ft restaurant in a 20 year lease.

Susan Adams, asset manager, British Land, said: “The new phase at Whiteley is an excellent addition to this thriving shopping destination. The attractive mix of high street and leisure operators complement an already impressive offer, and shoppers now have broader choice of places to eat, drink and be entertained.”
