Russell Hall has been appointed as the new centre manager at the Grafton centre in Cambridge. Starting his role this July, Hall will work closely with owner Legal & General Property to drive forward the recently announced refurbishment of the centre and lead the management team on-site.
Hall comes with a wealth of operational and management experience, most recently managing a shopping centre in Northampton and having previouslyworked with a number of well-know retail businesses.
Hall’s appointment follows the announcement of the £18.5 million refurbishment programme of The Grafton Centre by owner Legal & General Property to rejuvenate the centre and create a more modern and inviting shopping and dining destination for Cambridge locals to enjoy. The Grafton will stay open for the duration of the refurbishment, which is planned in two phases. With expected completion in summer 2017, the first phase of the work includes improvements to the Fitzroy Street entrance and Central Court, to create bright open spaces throughout. The second phase of works includes the refurbishment of The Great Court and the creation of an exciting new restaurant quarter, to complement the recently refitted Vue Cinema.
Tom Williams, senior asset manager at Legal & General Property, said: “We are delighted to welcome Russell on board, whose appointment comes at a very exciting time for The Grafton. Russell will not only take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the centre but will also be instrumental in realising our vision for a much improved shopping, dining and entertainment experience to our visitors”.
