The retailer has signed a ten-year lease to occupy 32,000 sq ft at the centre with a one level trading area of approximately 28,000 sq ft. Works to create the space commenced in March and the opening coincided with the completion of Capital & Regional's £5m refurbishment of the Mall Maidstone.
Gareth Holland, retail asset manager at Capital & Regional said: “The arrival of TJ Hughes is a huge boost for the The Mall Maidstone, and for the town centre as a whole. It is also an endorsement of our decision to undertake the refurbishment, and underlines that by creating a modern shopping environment we can attract high calibre retailers.”
Anil Juneja, managing director at Lewis Home Retail said: “Maidstone is an attractive location for us, and the Mall provides the type of vibrant, contemporary setting we desire for our TJ Hughes stores. This is the first in our expansion plan in the South and look forward to returning to Maidstone.
