Realm and Lifestyle outlets report strong 2016 performance

The Realm portfolio of outlet centres produced a stellar set of results in 2016 with total sales increasing by 16 per cent, and like-for-like growth of 7 per cent. Footfall for the year was up 5 per cent on 2015.

Lifestyle Outlets has revealed a record year with sales at an all-time high at its two outlets – Gloucester Quays and Lowry Outlet MediaCityUK Manchester. 2016 resulted in a 14% increase in sales YOY and 10 new store openings across both sites.

The Realm leasing team delivered 75 new deals across its estate of ten outlet centres, accounting for a total of 150,000 sq ft. Lifestyle achieved ten new openings with six at Gloucester and Four at Salford.

Realm’s managing director Colin Brooks said: “Our portfolio sales growth for the year ending December 2016 and the level of leasing activity reflects growing confidence in the outlet sector from consumers and retailers alike. We are looking forward to delivering further sales growth and tenant mix improvements during 2017.”
