Nottingham mall shrugs off loss of Austin Reed brands

Nottingham’s oldest shopping centre, the Exchange, has recorded another strong end of year performance, with 2016 footfall up 3.67 per cent on 2015 figures, in spite of the loss of three key tenants when the Austin Reed group collapsed.

2017 also starts well for the centre, with outdoor clothing brand Jack Wolfskin signing to take fill one of the voids to open its ninth UK store.

Centre manager Neil Fincham said: “I think these figures are a good result in any context, but when assessed against the national picture they underline a particularly healthy performance for the centre in what has been an unpredictable year.”
