Leasing agents appointed for Southampton’s Bargate Quarter

Tellon Capital has appointed Brasier Freeth and GCW as leasing agents for a new 70,000-sq ft retail and leisure scheme in the heart of Southampton city centre.

Planning consent was granted in January 2017 to transform the former shopping centre into a vibrant quarter, offering new boutique shopping, cafes, restaurants and modern living. The £130m mixed use development will regenerate the area to include an avenue surrounded by substantial parks, the design will see the previously hidden historic walls uncovered for the first time in 30 years.

The new development, which features 22 retail and catering units together with a further five pavilion units, focused on an aspirational tenant line up. A vibrant new public realm will be at the heart of Bargate Quarter, making up almost one third of the scheme.

James Burchell of Tellon said: “We have been overwhelmed by the level of interest we have received in the scheme and look forward to creating a new vibrant environment within the city centre”.
