Aviva to upgrade 25-year-old Kingston mall

As the Bentall centre in Kingston, south-west London, turns 25, landlords Aviva Investors and Gingko Tree Investments have unveiled plans for a refurbishment and leisure extension including a four screen boutique cinema, new restaurants, new flagship stores, enhancement of the customer entrances, new customer service facilities, improvements to mall areas and a children’s activity area.

A four-screen boutique cinema is proposed at the Clarence Street end of the Bentall Centre. It will be accessed via a foyer on the second floor. Four new restaurants at first floor level will provide a high quality family orientated dining hub which, together with the cinema, will create a new leisure offer. Activation of the windows within Clarence Street façade is proposed to improve the appearance and enhance visual activity from street level.

A new and inviting entrance scheme is proposed at the centre’s Fife Road entrance, incorporating some of the design and lighting features already used on Clarence Street. The installation of retail and food & beverage kiosks will bring activity to mall areas.

A new and improved mall lighting scheme will reflect the new fresh and modern look of the centre. Extended link bridges within the mall are proposed to improve circulation space and provide areas for merchandising and customer seating. A new children’s activity area will be provided to enhance facilities available to our younger visitors.

A new customer services desk and specially trained hosts will be introduced to ensure the centre continues to exceed service expectations. Newly refurbished toilets will be also provided to meet the high standard of facilities expected by our customers.
