East London retail park attracts new brands

The Standard Life Investments UK Retail Park Trust has secured a host of new lettings at Gallions Reach, London’s largest shopping park.

Next has renewed the lease on its existing 20,000-sq ft unit on a ten-year term, Foot Locker is taking a 4,530-sq ft store, and Shoe Zone is taking a 3,900-sq ft unit on a five-year lease.

Sandy Pringle, fund manager of the Standard Life Investments UK Retail Park Trust, said: “Gallions Reach shopping park is ideally located to take advantage of future growth in this part of London. We are continuing to invest in it to ensure its future is a bright one, and these lettings underline its strength and appeal to retailers. London remains a higher-performing retail centre and it is exciting to see stores innovate and adapt their offer to take advantage of this.”

The 325,000-sq ft park is anchored by a 109,000 sq ft Tesco Extra and 1,500 free parking spaces. Existing retailers include Next, H&M, River Island, TK Maxx, Boots, Smyths Toys and Sports Direct.

Ramsdens acted for Shoe Zone. Harvey Spack Field and Cushman & Wakefield represented Standard Life Investments.
